First Steps

We can undertake every aspect of setting up your website, and, whilst we appreciate that no one knows your needs better than you, we will advise and guide you through each stage of the process.

The content of your web site is basically provided by you, and, if this is readily available in electronic format, the cost of setting up your site will be reduced quite substantially. However, we are always able to assist in producing this material if required.

All the above, plus style preferences, site names etc. will be discussed and agreed with you without any obligation or commitment on your part. After we have been through the above and examined the requirements we will arrive at the cost of preparing and running your site. At this point, if you are happy with the services offered and the costs involved, you will be asked if you wish to proceed and agree that you will pay the quoted price once the website is built and approved by you. (It is part of our policy that you pay for nothing until you are 100% satisfied with what we have done.)

Site Development

The development of your site will be started, and you will be consulted at various stages during the development (particularly in the early stages) to ensure that we are progressing in the direction you have in mind.

There should be no increase in the scope of the original specification during this phase. If you feel that this is required, then it must be agreed by both parties, together with an agreement on any extra cost involved, before putting the extra work in hand.

When the site is complete you will have it fully demonstrated to you and will approve its content and style off-line (before it is published to the web). Once you are happy that the website is acceptable and as specified then we will present our invoice for payment.

Publishing

Your site will be published to the internet as soon as practicable after payment has been received.

We will also submit your site details to the main search engines for inclusion in their listings. This process takes anything from a couple of days to a few weeks and, unfortunately, is completely out of our hands once we have made the application. However, we will make every effort to ensure that your site is promoted as rapidly as possible.

Site Maintenance

Having a website that does not change is not really why you wanted one in the first place. If this is a commercial website then you will probably need to update prices, products, etc. If it is a personal website then you will probably need to inform your visitors of recent events etc.

If we know of the type of changes you may require we will be in a position to advise on the best options for maintaining your website. If you feel that you may be able to carry out the maintenance yourself then we can give you you the training you may require. Alternatively, we can undertake the maintenance of your site on a contractual or ad-hoc basis. Either way we will make any modifications you may need in a timely and appropriate fashion and you will always agree the costs beforehand.
